Shape Analysis scanners were used to gather 3D body scans for SizeUK during 2001 & 2002. During this time approximately 11,000 scans were captured and a total of 1.5 million measurements have been analysed.

Shape Analysis was awarded the Data Analysis contract in January 2002. The results were delivered in May 2004. Below is a summary of the results. The full results are still being analysed by the Retailers involved in the project.

Each one of these subjects fits the average measurements of SizeUK, however look at how different their shapes are This just shows how difficult it is to fir clothes from an off the peg solution.

The answer is mass customisation, which scanning can bring to the public in a timely and affordable manner
